MECHANISMS FOR STRATEGIC ADAPTATION OF IT COMPANIES IN CONDITIONS OF UNCERTAINTY AND INFORMATION RISKS

Abstract

Strategic adaptation is considered the dynamic ability of an organization to recognize external threats, mobilize resources, and reformat internal processes to maintain viability and competitiveness. The dynamics of the Ukrainian IT market were studied, revealing deep structural restructuring. The purpose of the study is to provide theoretical justification and a comprehensive analysis of the mechanisms by which IT companies adapt to high uncertainty and an aggressive information-risk environment, and to identify key vectors of business model transformation to ensure sustainable development of the industry.

A significant shift in emphasis in the strategies of Ukrainian IT companies was identified: from classic outsourcing to product models and R&D hubs. It was confirmed that digital adaptability has become a fundamental factor in sustainability, with each unit invested in technology creating a multiplier effect across the entire economy. Of particular interest is the transformation of artificial intelligence from a standalone tool to a core infrastructure layer, which fundamentally changes approaches to strategic planning under military risk.

The appropriate directions for transforming business models in the context of strategic adaptation of IT enterprises are substantiated (transition from a service to a product model, transition to remote and hybrid work models, digital resistance and information risk management, adaptation through artificial intelligence, development of innovative technologies for defense and national security, active integration into global value chains through the opening of international representative offices). Information risks in future periods are determined by the development of AI agents, the threat of decryption, and the vulnerability of supply chains. Therefore, it is evident that the strategic adaptation of IT companies under conditions of uncertainty is not a one-time event; it is a continuous process of transformation based on flexibility, digital resilience, and the development of complex technological products. The study confirmed that the Ukrainian IT sector demonstrated high viability during the war due to decentralization, relocation, and focus on defense technologies.
