DIGITALIZATION OF PRODUCTION PROCESS MANAGEMENT IN AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES IN THE CONTEXT OF CURRENT TRANSFORMATIONS

Abstract

The article analyzes the relevance and essence of digitalizing production process management in agricultural enterprises, that is a topic of particular importance in the current business environment, especially taking into consideration martial law. It notes that the evolution and development of agricultural technologies necessitate managerial transformations, with digitalization serving as a key tool in this process. The article outlines the primary tools and capabilities associated with digitalizing the management of agricultural enterprises, citing examples such as cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, analytics platforms, the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain technology, precision farming systems, and digital accounting systems. Special attention is paid to blockchain technology, which is currently gaining traction and enhancing corporate transparency and efficiency by enabling process monitoring, data collection, execution of smart contracts, and fraud prevention. Blockchain technology plays a vital role in providing the information necessary for enterprise operations – a factor that is currently crucial for the effective management of modern agricultural businesses under the conditions of uncertainty and transformation. The study concludes that digitalizing production process management offers significant advantages to Ukrainian agricultural enterprises, bolstering their resilience and competitiveness. These benefits are realized through faster managerial decision-making supported by analytics tools and software, more efficient resource allocation in production, and the use of systems for monitoring and tracking logistics processes. All of this contributes to increased efficiency and labor productivity, improved product quality, responsiveness to changes in consumer demand and preferences, the mitigation of climate change, and the addressing of other threats. Thus, the digitalization of management processes in agricultural enterprises has a significant, positive, long-term impact on the operations of domestic agricultural businesses.
