Abstract

The article examines the theoretical foundations of enterprise viability management under conditions of increasing uncertainty and economic turbulence. The relevance of the study is обусловлена by the transformation of enterprise operating conditions under the influence of military, macroeconomic, and technological factors, which necessitates a reconsideration of traditional management approaches and a transition from reactive crisis management models to the proactive provision of an enterprise’s ability to function effectively, adapt, and develop.

The purpose of the article is to substantiate enterprise viability management as an independent managerial function by systematizing related theoretical approaches (resilience, stability, adaptability, crisis management), as well as to define the content, structure, and place of this function within the system of modern management. In the course of the study, general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, systemic and comparative approaches, as well as the method of generalization were applied.

The article summarizes contemporary approaches to interpreting related categories and conducts their comparative analysis, which made it possible to substantiate enterprise viability as an integral dynamic property of an organizational system that combines operational, recovery, and development dimensions. It is established that viability is a broader concept compared to resilience and stability, as it encompasses not only the ability to withstand crises but also the proactive formation of conditions for long-term development.

The expediency of distinguishing viability management as an independent managerial function is substantiated; this function is formed based on the management object and integrates the tools of strategic management, risk management, and crisis management. Taking into account the viable system model, it is proven that ensuring enterprise viability is the result of coordinated interaction among operational, coordination, control, adaptive, and strategic subsystems.

The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of using the proposed approach to form an enterprise viability management system, develop tools for its assessment, and improve the effectiveness of managerial decision-making under conditions of uncertainty.
