The basic basis for the formation of the food security system is described. It is determined that the sustainable development of the agricultural sector is a basic prerequisite for the formation of an effective food security system. The use of a multifactor regression model is proposed to quantitatively assess the impact of the sustainable development of the Ukrainian agricultural sector on the level of food security in Ukraine. The key components of the organizational and economic environment of management are presented, which are capable of providing a direct impact on the economic, environmental and social components of the sustainable development model. The study is based on the basic hypothesis - the sustainable development of the agricultural sector has a direct positive impact on the level of food security in Ukraine, however, this impact is significantly adjusted by external military shocks and price instability. The dynamics of indicators of sustainable development of the agricultural sector and the state of food security in Ukraine are presented. A dynamic series of the integral index of food security is formed. An econometric model has been built that describes the quantitative relationship between individual parameters. It has been determined that the food security of Ukraine directly depends on the ability of agricultural producers to implement a sustainable development strategy, harmonizing economic efficiency with social responsibility and environmental safety even in extremely difficult wartime conditions. The constructed econometric model allows not only to state the current state of affairs, but also to predict scenarios for the development of food security, depending on the priorities of the state agrarian policy. It has been established that significant price volatility and the destruction of logistics chains are key obstacles to the sustainable development of subjects of the agricultural sector of the economy. The constructed multifactor regression model confirmed the direct dependence of food security on the economic and social components of sustainable development.
