Abstract

The article is devoted to the investigation of neo-luddism during the digital  dictatorship epoch and the importance of technologies in solving global demographic, economic, social and political issues. The prerequisites for the development of neo-luddism in the world and in Ukraine have been determined. Neoluddism is a modern movement of opposition to specific or general technological development. The term "neoluddite" is most often used by proponents of technology to describe people or organizations that oppose technological advances.

The rapid development of technology in the modern world is becoming more obvious — and automation only increases the society anxiety. The growing interest in off-chain lifestyles should be expected to be accompanied by direct action and even anti-tech riots. A growing number of digital discoverers are raising their voices and concerns about how technology can harm humanity. Being a neo-luddite during the digital  dictatorship epoch means having the appearance of backwardness and thoughtlessness. It is important to define today's neo-luddites — those who resist or criticize the technology march — who are reasonable and progressive. Did these neo-luddites find meaning, or is their resistance a meaningless gesture in the face of technology?

Modern neo-luddites continue to make moral and ethical arguments against the excesses of modern technology. The technological inventions and technical systems that support these inventions, according to their views, have evolved to control rather than to promote social interactions. The breadth and depth of technological change in modern society threatens the essence of humanity. With the increasing number of people expressing concern about the role of mobile technology and social media in everyday life, there is a clear movement towards finding ways to interact with technology more closely. We can start using the power of technology itself smarter to help ourselves become more aware - and there is a good chance that neo-luddites will approve.
