Abstract

The article examines the processes of systemic and structural transformation of industrial development in Ukraine under modern economic and wartime challenges. It is substantiated that structural changes in industry act as a key factor in the modernization of the national economy, as they contribute to the transition from a resource-oriented economic model to an innovative and high-tech structure of production. It is determined that the current state of Ukraine’s industrial sector is characterized by structural imbalances, a high level of technological obsolescence of production capacities, insufficient innovative activity of enterprises, and limited investment resources. Additional influence on the transformation of industrial development is exerted by global economic trends, the intensification of international competition, as well as military and economic challenges that have led to the destruction of part of the production infrastructure, disruption of logistics chains, and reduction of the industrial potential of certain regions.

Theoretical approaches to the study of structural changes in industry are analyzed, including sectoral, technological, institutional, and territorial aspects of economic system transformation. Particular attention is paid to the role of state industrial policy in shaping strategic directions for the modernization of national production, stimulating innovation activity, developing high-tech sectors, and increasing the competitiveness of the national economy. It is determined that effective structural modernization of industry should be based on a combination of state support for innovation, activation of investment processes, development of industrial clusters, technological parks, and innovation infrastructure.

The importance of a regional approach to the modernization of the industrial complex is substantiated, since significant territorial differentiation of economic potential requires the formation of an effective regional policy aimed at developing industrial growth centers, attracting investments, and integrating enterprises into international production chains. It is proved that the implementation of systemic and structural transformation of Ukraine’s industrial development should be based on the principles of innovation, technological modernization, energy efficiency, and European integration. In the long term, this will contribute to the formation of a competitive, sustainable, and technologically oriented model of industrial development of the state.
