Abstract

Stationery continues to play an important role in the educational and work process. Stationery consumers are various categories of users. It is shown that the demand for stationery products will grow in the future at a CAGR of 5.3%. In 2024, the sales volume of stationery products in the world reached 160.9 billion US dollars. By 2034, the value of the stationery market will reach 271.0 billion US dollars.

Consumers mainly buy stationery offline. In 2023, offline sales of stationery amounted to 70.0%. By 2034, the growth rate of the offline sales channel will be 4.9%. The growth rate of the stationery market in the world in 2024-2034 is analyzed.

The growth trends of the stationery market in the world are considered. The most promising segment is stationery - premium items from well-known manufacturers.

The stationery market in Ukraine in 2024 was characterized by adaptation to wartime realities: increased demand for functionality, logistics challenges, and changes in procurement. Trends in environmental friendliness, high-quality materials, and domestically produced goods gained popularity.

Paper products occupy a high position in the industry. In 2023, paper products accounted for 37.3% of sales. In 2024, the growth rate of demand for paper products was 5.1%.

The article examines the dynamics of the number of operating business entities in the field of paper stationery production in 2010-2024 and the volume of domestically produced paper stationery sold over the same period.

Key trends in the development of the stationery market in Ukraine and in the world are considered. The stationery market in Ukraine in 2026 is expected to see trends in environmental friendliness, convenience, private labels and digitalization, with increasing competition. Ukrainian manufacturers will try to strengthen their positions through innovation, adaptation to consumer demands, and the development of omnichannel sales; there will be demand for high-quality, modern, and environmentally friendly products that provide comfort in learning and work.
